Private water taxis can run from the airport docks straight to the hotel. The public water shuttle bus runs to St Mark's Square, just 300 metres away. The best way to explore the city is by foot, vaporetto (waterbus), or water taxi. Driving directions: Central Venice is off limits to cars so motorists should park at Mestre on the mainland. Parking lots at Piazzale Roma, next to the main Santa Lucia station, are nearer the centre of Venice but can get very busy.
