From Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE): Distance to Hotel Locanda Ovidius is 20 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.
Getting there. ATVO buses run every 30 minutes to Piazzale Roma in the city centre. The journey time is 20 minutes and single tickets cost 3 EUR. The ACTV number 5 bus also goes to Piazzale Roma. The number 15 bus runs between the airport and Venice Mestre train station. At Piazzale Roma, water buses (vaporetto) are available. Guests can take waterbus 1 to San Silvestro stop followed by water bus 82 to the Rialto stop, the closest water bus stop to the hotel. From Venice's Santa Lucia train station, water bus 82 goes to Rialto. A free bus service links the airport terminal to the airport jetty; from here, regular Alilaguna boats leave for the city. Single tickets cost 10 EUR. Private water taxis are available, but are typically very expensive. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is on Ramo Sturion. Venice is best explored on foot or by public water buses (vaporetto). Three day passes for the public water bus cost 25 EUR and offer unlimited travel. Rialto is the hotel's nearest water bus stop. Water taxis and gondolas are also available. Gondolas leave from Riva del Vin, below the hotel. Gondola ferries (traghetti) cross the Grand Canal and the fare is 50 cents. Drivers can leave their cars at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto.
Driving directions.From Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE): Take the A1 motorway in the direction of Roma Firenze Bologna Venezia towards Venice. Follow the A4 into Venice city centre.
